TEXTAL(TM) manual
- All the tasks in the GUI allow the user to
- Specify the task parameters (either from the PDS or from a file)
- Display and save the outputs of the tasks (in graphical form using PyMol or in file format)
- Help buttons that inform the user about the task's function as well as the nature of its inputs and outputs.
- Each of the tasks can be dragged onto the PHENIX GUI canvas. Multiple tasks can be connected to
form complex startegies.
- The LOG button in the bottom right hand corner of the canvas allows the user to watch the progress of a
task or startegy.
- The tasks are color coded to indicate the status of the tasks to the user.
- TEXTAL(TM) tasks are organized into several groups .Input/Output tasks, Higher level tasks, Primitives and Utilities
- Input/Output tasks - Tasks which read data (Sequence Files, Map files, PDB files etc) into the PDS and
write out data from the PDS.
- Primitive tasks - These are tasks which include the atomic/basic tasks within TEXTAL(TM) which can be connected
to give higher level functionality, these include scale map, calculate features, Sequence alignment etc
- Higher level tasks - These are tasks which combine several primitive tasks (atomic or basic task). A higher
level tasks includes such tasks as Build backbone,Build Complete Model, etc.
- Utility tasks - These currently include utilties to make different map objects i.e. Make Centered map
