The installation scripts can't find a Fortran compiler for your system.
You can get gfortran or g77 for OS X PPC here:

http://hpc.sourceforge.net/#fortran

They are nicely packaged and easy to install.

Out of curiousity, why are you building from source and not using 
the binary bundles?  The source tarball in the 'sbgrid' directory is 
a few RCs behind the current versions available as a binary.
